Accretion Series

My recent series of paintings, titled Accretion, belong to a broader set of works I call Crystal, Cell, Lattice. Set against dark backgrounds, and inspired by cellular anatomy and simple mineral structures, these paintings depict a build-up of roughly concentric patterns. Suggesting a metamorphosis of natural architecture expanding around a nucleus, these works seek a liminal state between building blocks in nature, and those of pure abstraction.
